Wednesday Why: For the “Who Dat!” Nation

Can we get a “Who Dat!!?”  As football season begins across the country, so does another classic Louisiana tradition – rooting for our beloved New Orleans Saints.  Even if you aren’t a diehard football fan, there is no denying the importance the Saints have to people in southern Louisiana. Just as the Saints are important to our residents, restoring and protecting coastal Louisiana is, dare we say, more important.

In a recent Times-Picayune article, Michael Keller said “It’s a kind of symbol of coming back stronger, that’s the attitude we’re going to live with, and I’m confident that’s the attitude the Saints have, too.”

Louisiana needs to come back stonger. Restoration and protection of our wetlands is a continuous fight, and we must be strong if we want to win. We must save our wetlands or we will have to paddle to the Super Dome!

What’s your why?
