Wednesday Why: For the Great Outdoors

Wed why outdoor activities

In this fast paced society, it is very easy for everyone to get wrapped up in technology. Almost everyone is plugged in and has access to massive amounts of indoor entertainment and information.  South Louisiana is special though, and can still pull any kid away from a video game out to “The Great Outdoors.” That is worth saving!

Family seafood boils, blessings of the fleet, early morning fishing trips. All of those are possible on any given weekend on any bayou. The beauty of this place isn’t exotic, it is a natural relationship our communities create. There is fun to experience outside and we love it, so let’s be sure it’s still there for as long as possible!

Wednesday Why: Connections

Slide2

The Mississippi River watershed is the largest in North America and the third largest in the world. It drains 31 states and two Canadian provinces between the Rocky and Appalachian Mountains, encompassing 42% of the contiguous United States. This is a good reminder of how we are all connected and need to work together to protect that which connects us.
