Wednesday Why: This is a Great Place to Grow Up!

Wed. Why Great place to grow up

They may be young, but they know what they love about coastal Louisiana.  Coastal Louisiana is their playground.  Their experiences within our environment are same ones that many of us here in coastal Louisiana share and make us who we are!  Let’s all work together to restore and protect their birthplace.

How can you help save coastal Louisiana?  Educate others by sending us your why at  photoproject@bayougrace.org.

Wednesday Why: Memories

wed why childhood memories Our memories need a home! Bayou water runs through our veins and though life takes us on many roads, having a place to return to is essential to all of us. A connection to place is a key part of our well-being. Sometimes when life gets hectic, being able to drive ’down the bayou’ is all it takes to put that extra spring in your step. While some people day-dream about being on a beach, people in South Louisiana might day-dream about fishing in the pirogue with their grandpa.  We should always the chance to return to our memories. How sad will that day be if we have to say, “I can’t show you that old oak tree because it’s under water.”

Are your memories in danger of washing away? Share them with us. Send you Why to photoproject@bayougrace.org and check out our Why gallery.
